Extra Curricular and youth work in schools
Youth Moves has been working for a number of years with local education providers helping link informal education 'youth work approaches' alongside both formal mainstream education and alternative/ specialist education providers.
We believe that the teaching of life skills, such as communication, teamwork, tolerance, respect, building resilience and confidence are as vital to young people's futures as qualifications, and we work closely with a range of education partners to provide opportunities to learn these skills.
We also believe that youth workers are uniquely placed to teach PSHE skills and to deliver group-work programmes aimed at removing barriers to learning and progression that are linked to young people's personal lives or circumstances.
Currently we provide:
An embedded youth work team working with staff and young people from Bedminster Down Secondary school providing new opportunities and targeted projects during the school day, after-school and during holiday periods.
After-school youth club provision at both Bridge Learning Campus and Merchants Academy secondary sites.
A Forest School programme and lunch-time sports programme at the School of Christ the King primary school.
Lunch-time and wrap-around support for students attending The Park for their vocational college placements.
Our packages are flexible and bespoke to the school setting and we are always interested in talking to new partners to see if we can help them.
