How the Mentoring works

Our mentoring service is a paid for service. We have some grants and contracts to support this work but usually placements are paid for by the referring agency.

Mentoring is for a minimum period of 18 hours over a 12 week period.

Making a Referral

To make a referral please download and complete the Mentoring Referral Form. Download here.

Complete this form and send it to denise.clifford@youthmoves.org.uk

Den will then contact you to discuss the case, meet the young person and family to explain how mentoring works and then start the process of matching the individual to a suitable mentor.

Our overall philosophy is that we run young person centred mentoring, with each mentoring placement being bespoke to the individual young person, as we believe that each young person will have very individual needs.

Our mentoring matches mentors with mentees, based on skills, experience, interests, hobbies and personalities to ensure a strong foundation between mentor and young person from the start to enable a healthy, positive professional relationship to grow.

Youth Moves has been running the Breakthrough Mentoring for over 5 years and has a proven track record of the success and developmental journeys for the young people who have received a mentor.
