The Mayor of Bristol Marvin Rees is the latest of our high profile names to meet young people at Youth Moves.

He took a break from tossing pancakes on Tuesday 16th February to jump on Zoom and answer questions from our team of budding Jeremy Paxmans.

This time it was the turn of the Youth Opinions group, who oversee the youth voice at Youth Moves. They make decisions about our delivery, our direction, inform the board and are accountable to the young people we work with.

They fired an onslaught of robust and varied questions at the citys' leader, who answered them in a very direct and honest way.

Questions from how young people can be more involved in politics at City Hall, to Trans rights, to alienation of South Bristol were discussed. There were moments of challenge, moments of humour, and moments of hope.

The conversation ended with a series of actions put towards the Mayor to take away, and some for the young people themselves to do.

We would like to thank the Mayor for giving up his time to do this, and for being so open and frank in his responses, and most importantly providing some concrete plans.

The Youth Opinions group will be in touch and following all this up with you.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next big guest on 'Youth Moves Q and As' coming soon.
