What is a website? Why do we as a charity need anything more than a basic one that tells people what we do and why? Our job is to work with young people to change their lives and to improve the communities that we operate in so why spend time and effort on a website? Over the years I have asked myself this a number of times usually when under a deadline to get the latest version live or trying hard to find the photos and create the content to help keep the website updated!
However now I understand why Youth Moves needs a great website..... it is a way to showcase the amazing achievements of the young people that we work with, it is a place to celebrate the fantastic youth workers who do such a brilliant job (often going unnoticed as they work with the young people who need it most) and it is the shop window through which individuals, partners and businesses can connect with us and help us to work with even more young people.
So I was delighted when we were awarded a Transform Foundation grant that allowed us to work with a specialist website designer to develop our brand new website, one that is so much more than just a landing page for our charity, but one which allows us to tell the stories of the young people we work with and the youth work we deliver, a website where people who want to volunteer to make a difference to young people in South Bristol can sign up, and one where people who want to help raise money for our charity can do so simply.
Therefore I'm delighted that we are launching this website please do have a look around, find out more about what we do, when and how we do it, follow the stories of staff and young people we work with and if you think you can help us in our mission to deliver outstanding youth work to the young people and communities in South Bristol then we'd love to hear from you.
