The Easter holidays were action packed again this year for Youth Moves as lots of young people got involved in activities.

A comprehensive programme with a variety of things to do both in the local community and further afield.

It culminated once again with a residential trip to Barton Camp.

The residential activity site in Somerset is somewhere we regularly go, and the young absolutely love it. They get to try new outdoor pursuit activities, team bonding games, jump around in the outdoor pool, cook their own food, and gaze at the stars at night.

We would like to thank the centre for being so accommodating as ever, the staff for their tireless commitment, and of course the young people for taking the plunge and getting involved. So we leave once again with very happy memories, new friendships were formed and others cemented, and it was a lovely chance to get out the city and have some fresh country air.

Lead worker Joel said : "It was great to be able to take young people out and about again in the holidays, and we crammed quite a lot in. There were a decent range of activities on offer in the community and further afield.

We managed to visit the beach again, and were lucky with the weather, and it was of course brilliant to get back to Barton Camp. The young people love it there, and always look forward to it. Offering new challenges for young people and giving space for them to be themselves is important, and I can't think of a better place to do that than at Barton Camp. Truly magical place."

Taking young people outside their comfort zone and supporting them to have new experiences and broaden their horizons is central to our work, and residentials are pivotal to that.
